Job summary

CSL Vifor Johnston, RI is seeking a Phlebotomist to collect plasma via pheresis, monitor the process, and follow SOPs to ensure donor safety and product quality.

You will perform venipuncture, set up donors, monitor and disconnect, log data in the donor information system, and respond to donor reactions.

A high school diploma is required; external candidates need at least 6 months as a phlebotomist, with 12 months in a medical setting preferred; CSL’s DST training for internal applicants.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• External candidates: minimum 6 months’ phlebotomy experience; 1 year preferred.
• Internal CSL employees: must have completed CSL Plasma DST training.
• Minimum 12 months of experience in a medical or health care setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform pheresis and plasma collection per SOPs.
• Perform venipuncture to begin pheresis.
• Monitor donor vein performance and adjust as needed.
• Educate donors on donation process and center policies.
• Record incidents and donor data in the electronic system.
• Assist with donor reactions and maintain safety.
• Conduct calibrations and maintenance per SOPs.
• Cross-train in other areas as needed.
• Ensure a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
