Job summary

CSL Plasma in San Juan, Puerto Rico is seeking a Donor Screening Assistant to greet donors, verify eligibility, and guide them through the screening process. You will support health history review, health screenings, and data recording using the electronic donor system.

Responsibilities include performing initial health checks, assisting with finger-stick analyses, and educating donors on plasma products after training. Occasional cross-training and bilingual capability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in medical or health provider environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Will perform basic math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Greet donors at the plasma collection center and conduct registration procedures to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process.
• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process following SOPs, including health history assessment and basic health screening (BP, pulse, weight, temperature).
• Perform finger stick to obtain hematocrit and total protein levels as part of donor screening.
• Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma after appropriate training, and answer donor questions accurately and professionally.
• Register applicants and transfer donors based on training and operational needs.
• Answer telephones and transfer calls to appropriate staff as needed.
• Monitor donor reactions during/after pheresis and alert staff when necessary.
• Record donor data accurately in the electronic donor information management system.
• Maintain awareness of hyperimmune program policies and ensure a clean, safe work environment.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and may require bilingual capabilities as needed.
