Job summary

CSL Plasma in Puerto Rico is seeking a Medical Operations professional to evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures and provide limited emergency medical care in a regulated setting.

The role involves interviewing donors, reviewing medical histories, and coordinating with medical leadership to ensure donor safety and proper handling of reactive test results. Experience in plasma centers is preferred and licensure requirements may apply.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, PA, chiropractic, medical or naturopathic program.
• If graduation is from a foreign medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an EMT.
• Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment.
• Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred.
• Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures.
• Provides limited emergency medical care to donors and staff including administering medication per SOPs.
• Interviews donors and performs medical history reviews to determine donation suitability.
• In conjunction with the Center Medical Director, answers medically related questions and provides information to staff on donor suitability.
• Notifies and counsels donors regarding reactive test results; refers donors to follow-up facilities.
