Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum twelve (12) months experience in a medical or health care environment preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • State certified as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician I, OR Registered Nurse by the State (where applicable).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for efficient collection of plasma from donors by performing venipuncture and monitoring the pheresis process according to SOPs.
  • Perform all aspects of pheresis procedure and plasma collection including donor set-up, monitoring and disconnect.
  • Venipuncture to begin pheresis process per SOPs and FDA guidelines.
  • Evaluate vein performance and expedite donation time to ensure product quality and donor safety.
  • Educate donors on use of plasma products and provide information about the screening process and center policies.
  • Monitor donor for reactions and assist or notify staff as needed.
  • Use PDA to record incidents, alarms, and donor adverse events during pheresis.
  • Perform calibrations and verify maintenance as outlined in SOPs; resolve equipment alarms/donor issues.
