Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Kennesaw, GA. You will determine donor eligibility, assess adverse events, review lab results, and communicate donor suitability under Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

You will also support vaccination programs and incident management, with responsibilities aligned to BioLife and Takeda medical affairs standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, including nursing program equivalency.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN; CPR and AED certification.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility; manage informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies including Center Physician standing orders and donor transport.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
