Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support center operations in Kansas City, MO. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings while working under Center leadership and medical guidance.

You will also support vaccination programs, incident management, and EHS procedures, contributing to safe plasma collection and donor care in a regulated setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: RN, NP or PA.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies including standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health review; follow EHS guidance.
