BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor eligibility, manage adverse events, and review laboratory results within a regulated plasma collection center.

The role operates under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance, requiring nursing licenses and EMT credentials, plus two years in a clinical setting, to support patient safety and center operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed/certified in the state of responsibility as EMT-B/A/I or RN/LPN/LVN.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training must be completed.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; arrange center physician standing orders and donor transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician/Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health evaluation; follow EHS guidance for incidents.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations in the local community.
