Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is hiring a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Houston, TX. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse donor events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. Reports to the Center Manager and Center Physician for medical guidance.

Requires a nursing license (LPN/LVN), current CPR/AED, basic IV therapy training, and at least two years in a clinical setting. BioLife offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent to nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified as LPN or LVN in the state of responsibilities.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent and medical history.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs.
• Review laboratory test results and inform donors of unsuitable results.
• Provide center-level support for environmental, health and safety matters.
• Support vaccination programs for staff; manage incidents per EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
