Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Houston seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support daily center operations and donor safety. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and inform donors of unsuitable findings under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

The role requires an LPN/LVN license in the state, CPR/AED certification, basic IV therapy knowledge, and at least two years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• Requires state nursing license (LPN/LVN) in the responsible state.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
• Basic IV therapy knowledge per state requirements.
• FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist completed.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent and medical history.
• Assess donor reactions and manage emergencies per SOPs and center policies.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for complex medical issues.
• Support vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
