Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Houston, TX is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to determine donor eligibility, review test results, and manage donor safety under the Center Manager and Center Physician. This role supports plasma center operations and adherence to regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate is a licensed RN/NP/PA, CPR/AED certified, with IV therapy training and at least two years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program completion and state requirements.
• Licensed or certified as RN, NP or PA in the responsible state.
• CPR and AED certification required.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies with physician standing orders and transport when needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees where applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation with EHS guidance.
• Possible Pandemic Coordinator duties as authorized by EHS and Medical Affairs.
