Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Milwaukee, WI is hiring a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You determine donor eligibility, evaluate donor reactions, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable results under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

The role requires a state-licensed LPN/LVN, CPR/AED certification, and prior clinical experience; you will assist with vaccination programs and ensure donor safety and compliance

Qualifications

• LPN or LVN licensed in the relevant state
• CPR and AED certification
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience
• Basic IV therapy knowledge
• FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, and lab review (SPE)
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues and donor safety
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and assist as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized
