Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to ensure donor eligibility, monitor adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure safe, compliant plasma collection operations.

Role requires nursing licensure (LPN/LVN), CPR/AED, and experience in clinical/hospital settings, with FDA training completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program graduate.
• Licensed LPN or LVN in the state of responsibility.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Meet state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, and medical history interview.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and arrange donor transport for emergencies.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and escalate as needed.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations.
