Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate of a recognized nursing program.
• Licensed or certified as LPN/LVN in the applicable state.
• CPR and AED certification attained.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, and review of SPE results.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and center physician orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine if further occupational health/ER evaluation is needed.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent including graduate of a recognized nursing program

LPN or LVN licensed/certified in state of responsibilities

CPR and AED certification

Basic IV therapy required by state

FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training

Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
