Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is hiring a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) in Saint Louis, MO. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor safety, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, following SOPs and regulatory guidelines. We offer a comprehensive benefits program, including medical/dental, paid time off, and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

• Licensed LPN or LVN in the applicable state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• High school diploma or equivalence with nursing program.
• FDA-required BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.
• Two years of clinical/hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, eligibility review, physical exam, tests, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; initiate center physician standing orders and arrange donor transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical/technical issues and donor safety.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further occupational health/ER evaluation with EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations in the local community.
