Zusammenfassung

BioLife Plasma Services in Minnesota is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to help operate plasma collection activities. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable outcomes under the Center Physician's guidance.

Reporting to the Center Manager, you will participate in safety programs, respond to emergencies, and support environmental, health, and safety guidelines while maintaining high quality and customer service.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent, including graduation from an accredited nursing program.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned (EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN).
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Aufgaben

• Determine donor eligibility; ensure informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per applicable SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and liaise with occupational health/EHS.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.

Ausbildung

High school diploma or equivalent including graduation from an accredited nursing program

Nursing licensure (EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN)

CPR and AED certification

State IV therapy requirements

FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
