Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Minnesota is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and manage donor safety under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

The role requires EMT or nursing credentials, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting. You will participate in donor testing, vaccination programs for staff, and incident/EHS protocols.

Qualifications

• Licensed or certified EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I or EMT-P in the responsible state.
• LPN/LVN or RN credentials held.
• Current CPR and AED certification.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations as indicated.
