Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Minnesota seeks a Medical Support Specialist to determine donor eligibility, review laboratory results, and ensure donor safety, under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

You will support regulatory compliance, vaccination programs, and incident investigations, with a focus on quality and patient safety in a plasma collection center setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with state nursing program qualification.
• Licensed or certified EMT (B/A/I/P), LPN/LVN, or RN in the practicing state.
• CPR and AED certification.
• FDA BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completion.
• Two years clinical or hospital experience.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history, physical exam, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and center standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical guidance.
• Support vaccination programs (Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu) for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with occupational health/ER guidance and EHS support.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and assist investigations.

EMT license (B/A/I/P)

LPN/LVN license

RN license

CPR & AED certification

IV therapy certification

2+ years clinical/hospital experience
