Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda company, seeks a Medical Support Specialist in Pensacola, FL to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, monitor adverse events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings, under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

The role requires EMT licensure or RN/LPN credentials, CPR/AED, and two years in a clinical setting, with FDA training completing BioLife requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and completion of a recognized nursing program with state requirements.
• Current licensure or certification in the state of responsibility: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN; CPR/AED certification.
• Meet state IV therapy requirements; complete FDA-approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, and donor screening.
• Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies and transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical guidance.
• Support vaccination programs for employees and manage occupational health issues as applicable.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and assist EHS investigations.
