Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including nursing program graduate equivalent as required by state.
• Active EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P or LPN/LVN or RN license in the responsible state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility: informed consent, AIDS education, self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance, physical examination, blood testing, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and center guidelines.
• Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER; align with EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
