Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist to ensure donor eligibility, review test results, and support plasma center operations in Birmingham, AL. You will work under Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

Responsibilities include donor history, adverse-event review, SOP adherence, and assisting with occupational health safety programs. Requires clinical experience and active licensure in EMT or nursing. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Licensure in EMT or nursing roles with CPR/AED certification.
• Must meet state IV therapy prerequisites and FDA training requirements.
• Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility with informed consent, medical history, and testing.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance as needed.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.

Education

EMT-B/ EMT-A/ EMT-I/ EMT-P Licenses

LPN/LVN or RN license

CPR and AED certification

IV therapy prerequisites (state requirements)
