Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests under supervision of Center Manager and Center Physician.

Requirements include state licenses (EMT/ RN/LPN), CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting; FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist is required.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed or certified in the state where duties will be assigned (EMT, LPN/LVN, or RN).
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Satisfactorily complete FDA approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidentiality, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; assist with standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
