Qualifications

• Must be licensed/certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN
• CPR and AED certification required
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical exam, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage emergencies with standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER; consult EHS as needed.
• Possibly act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations within the local community.

Skills

CPR & AED certification

Two years clinical experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program
