Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Bloomington, IN. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and manage donor safety under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

You will also support vaccination programs and incident management, following SOPs and BioLife policies to ensure compliance and high-quality donor care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized and assist investigations of local health threats.
