Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Bloomington, IN seeks a Medical Support Specialist to help determine donor eligibility and oversee donor safety. You will review lab results, report unsuitable findings, and support center operations under supervision of the Center Manager and Center Physician.

Requirements include EMT/LPN/RN licensing, CPR/AED, basic IV therapy knowledge, and FDA training. Two years in a clinical setting is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program credential.
• Licensed or certified in EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN or RN.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• State IV therapy requirements per licensure state.
• FDA training to BioLife Medical Support Specialist standards.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including consent, medical history, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings.
• Support Hep B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for staff.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
