Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist in Bloomington, IN to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review lab results, and assist with donor safety under the Center Manager and Center Physician.

The role requires licenses (EMT or nursing), CPR/AED, and 2+ years in a clinical setting; you will follow SOPs and participate in vaccination programs and emergency responses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and nursing program qualification.
• Licensed or certified in the state: EMT-B/EMT-A/EMT-I/EMT-P, LPN/LVN, RN.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history interview, physical exam, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs; arrange donor transport as needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance; participate as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
