Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Indiana is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support center operations by determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure medical safety and regulatory compliance.

Must be licensed as EMT-Paramedic with CPR/AED, and have at least two years of clinical experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; EMT-Paramedic license/certification required.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training completed.
• Minimum two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, medical history, and acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance and documentation.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
