Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda Pharmaceutical Company subsidiary, seeks a Medical Support Specialist in Bloomington, IN. You will determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review lab results (SPE), and support center medical operations under physicians and EHS guidance.

You must hold relevant nursing or EMT licensure, CPR/AED certs, and have at least two years of clinical experience; IV therapy basics and FDA training are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold state license/certification in EMT-B/A/I/P, LPN/LVN, or RN with current credentials.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Two years of clinical or hospital experience.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical exam, blood testing and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents per EHS guidance; act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS.
• Foster center-level EH&S alignment and donor safety in daily operations.
