Job summary

Octapharma Plasma, Inc. in Louisville, KY seeks a Plasma Donor Center Technician to execute plasmapheresis and perform venipunctures. You will ensure compliance with FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA and GMP standards while delivering excellent donor service.

You will set up equipment, monitor donors, manage samples, and maintain logs. The role requires attention to safety, quality, and accurate documentation in a fast-paced plasma-donation environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3 months’ experience in a medical/healthcare environment preferred.
• Completed documentation of training appropriate for duties prior to working independently.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations (FDA SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).
• Maintain high level of donor service and positive donor experience.
• Stock and replenish supplies to meet production needs.
• Review donor identification and confidentiality per SOPs.
• Set up and prepare venipuncture and plasmapheresis equipment; label units and samples accurately.
• Execute venipunctures and plasma collection with high safety and quality standards.
• Operate plasmapheresis machines and respond to alarms and donor events.
• Monitor donor conditions and ensure donor safety and plasma quality.
• Maintain proper safety and disposal of biohazard waste per protocols.
• Perform regular calibration and maintenance of machines.
• Maintain thorough documentation (Machine Logs) and report unsafe situations to management.
• Drive training efficiencies and ensure compliance.
• Troubleshoot machine alarms and perform routine QC.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
