Job summary

Graham Packaging is seeking a Plant Engineer to perform technical and project engineering duties to enhance plant performance, reduce costs, and support electrical controls and PLC processes. The role includes leading preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies and managing capital projects from concept through implementation.

This position emphasizes cross-functional leadership, safety, and continuous improvement, with opportunities to influence asset reliability and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; mechanical/electrical/industrial/manufacturing focus.
• Minimum of 5 years engineering, maintenance, reliability, or technical leadership in manufacturing.
• Experience managing capital projects, equipment installations, and facility improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of maintenance and reliability engineering principles; utility systems experience (compressors, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, water treatment).
• Experience with Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead plant reliability and maintenance strategies to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
• Manage engineering and capital projects from concept to implementation, including budgeting and contractor management.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methods.
• Provide technical leadership and cross-functional support for manufacturing, utility systems, and upgrades.
• Lead engineering initiatives to improve safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and resource plans for engineering projects.
• Coordinate capital projects from approval to completion, including procurement and schedule management.
• Maintain and improve CMMS and preventive maintenance systems with accurate records.
• Prepare engineering reports, assessments, and SOPs; deliver technical training to staff.
