Job summary

Graham Packaging Company seeks a Director of Operations Engineering to provide strategic and technical leadership across the plant network, driving reliability, safety, cost control, and sustainability. This leader directs an integrated engineering organization that supports projects and continuous improvement while addressing emergencies to restore flow.

The Director sets priorities, governance, and budgets; uses structured problem solving and data-driven decisions to replicate best practices

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field; Electrical or Plastics preferred.
• 12+ years of manufacturing engineering, operations, reliability, or continuous improvement with multi-site leadership.
• Proven ability to translate technical issues into business risk and investment decisions.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% and respond to operational events outside hours.

Responsibilities

• Set strategy, priorities, resources, and performance expectations for Operations Engineering across plants.
• Lead and develop the Operations Engineering organization with a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Manage planned plant-support projects from scope through benefits realization.
• Drive maintenance standardization to increase reliability and throughput while controlling costs.
• Analyze SAP PM history to identify predictive-maintenance opportunities.
• Lead cross-functional collaboration with OEMs, Quality, Safety, and Supply Chain to resolve issues.
• Direct engineering support during emergencies to safely restore flow and prevent recurrence.
• Develop scopes of work, bid documents, and business cases for leadership approval.
• Lead using A3, 8D, and FMEA; Six Sigma Black Belt preferred, Green Belt acceptable.
