Job summary

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is seeking a Plant Manager for Salisbury, MD (Branch) to oversee the production and repackaging of compressed and liquid gases, ensure safety compliance, and align tasks with customer needs and stock levels. The role requires strong leadership, process improvement, and a focus on operational excellence.

You will lead supervisors, optimize processes, train staff, manage overtime, and drive improvements while maintaining a safe, efficient operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 5 years in manufacturing or distribution operations.
• Minimum 2 years leadership in distribution environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-starter, motivated, organized, with attention to detail.
• Team player with collaboration skills; able to influence without authority.
• Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures and regulations.
• Must communicate effectively in English.
• Forklift operation ability and safety awareness.
• Knowledge of truck routing and shipping of hazardous materials.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and FDA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate activities of workers in producing and repackaging gases.
• Operate and safely maintain the plant for pumping or repackaging gases.
• Study production schedules and estimate worker-hour requirements.
• Implement methods to improve production and product quality.
• Ensure safety rules are observed and safety training documented.
• Investigate injuries and accidents within 24 hours.
• Manage subordinate supervisors; provide coaching and action plans.
• Train new workers and cross-train staff to cover shortages.
• Maintain time and production records; approve overtime.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
