Job summary

SRM Concrete in Summerville, SC is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to keep our concrete plant running smoothly. You’ll perform a variety of hands-on tasks, inspect equipment, and execute preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

You’ll troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, weld as needed, and help prioritize repairs with plant leadership. A safety-focused, team-oriented problem-solver with relevant experience is ideal.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance experience in plant, industrial, or manufacturing settings.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing, and welding work.
• Ability to diagnose and repair in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to follow plant rules.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of maintenance tasks to keep the plant running smoothly.
• Inspect equipment regularly to spot issues before failures occur.
• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance to avoid downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems and repair quickly.
• Fabricate, repair, or reinforce equipment and structures using welding.
• Coordinate with plant leaders on priorities to maximize uptime.
• Record maintenance history, parts used, and time spent on tasks.
• Adopt new safety techniques and stay updated on protocols.
• Work with outside experts when specialized skills are needed.
• Assist with emergency repairs, including nights or weekends.
