Job summary

Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance mechanics and electricians across plant operations, ensuring preventive maintenance and rapid repairs to minimize downtime. You will develop schedules, mentor staff, and maintain compliance with USDA requirements.

You will oversee maintenance planning, track KPIs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives while coordinating with Production to keep lines running efficiently.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required.
• 2+ years of relevant maintenance leadership experience.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work long hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead teams of Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Train staff on proper methods and safety procedures.
• Supervise maintenance systems, processes and documentation for high performance.
• Coordinate maintenance planning with Production to address equipment and facility repairs.
• Develop and track KPIs for maintenance performance (reliability, TPM, SOPs).
• Ensure tasks comply with USDA regulations and maintain records.
