Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance teams across the plant, driving predictive and preventive maintenance, repairs, and reliable equipment performance. The role focuses on safety, compliance, and production efficiency in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting.

You will plan maintenance with Production, monitor KPIs, and mentor staff to build a high‑performing team while ensuring adherence to USDA regulations and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field with 2+ years of experience, or equivalent.
• Experience leading training, coaching or mentoring staff.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting in process industries.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work long hours and weekends if required.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maintenance Mechanics and Electricians in predictive and preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Plan and schedule maintenance with Production to minimize downtime.
• Develop KPIs and provide status reports on maintenance performance.
• Ensure compliance with USDA/industry regulations and proper documentation.
• Manage crisis and continuity activities in absence of key personnel.
• Develop and coach team for positive employee experience.
