Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Fullerton, CA seeks an Assistant Controller to lead financial reporting, month-end close, and internal controls. This on-site role partners with plant leadership to ensure accuracy and timeliness of GL data and budgets.

You'll manage fixed assets, intercompany accounting, cost accounting, and standard cost revisions, while supporting forecasts and ROI analyses for capital projects in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required; 3-5 years in standard cost environment.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and manage responsibilities.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist in audits and maintain compliance across operations.
• Assist with general accounting functions and monthly close.
• Perform monthly internal control testing (SOX) and document findings.
• Support month-end close by posting journal entries and reconciling ledgers.
• Review monthly reconciliations and monitor standard costs, BOM, and routings.
• Back-up for payroll processing and other financial indicators.
• Aid in budgeting, forecasts, and ROI analyses for capital projects.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
