Job summary

The Plant Controller at Bull Moose Tube Company serves as a key financial partner to multiple production facilities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, consistent accounting practices, and strong internal controls. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting and financial management experience.
• MBA or CPA desirable but not required.
• Manufacturing industry experience, including multi-plant financial oversight, preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Perform timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closes by preparing workpapers, recording journal entries, and reviewing GL activity.
• Prepare plant-level financial statements, P&L reports, balance sheet reconciliations, spending summaries, and forecasts.
• Maintain the plant's cost accounting system, including standard costing, labor and overhead rates, and production variance analysis.
• Support plant management by identifying cost-reduction opportunities and providing financial analysis.
• Assist in preparing the annual operating budget and periodic forecasts and explain variances.
• Monitor inventory valuation, cycle counts, and review obsolete/slow-moving inventory.
• Monitor capital expenditures, track project spending, and evaluate ROI.
