The Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland National-Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking a Planning Technician III to join our planning team in Largo, MD. This role reviews permits and development documents for accuracy and compliance, interprets planning regulations, and supports applicants and professionals with technical guidance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience with plan, permit and development review.
• Equivalency may substitute education and experience totaling four years.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical reviews of permits and development applications for accuracy and compliance.
• Identify problems and changes needed for regulatory compliance.
• Ensure compliance with approved plans and post-approval requirements.
• Explain codes, ordinances, maps and procedures to applicants and others.
• Prepare review comments and assist the public and professionals as needed.
