Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission's Prince George’s County Planning Department seeks a Planner I or Planner II with a strong background in environmental planning to join our planning team in Largo, MD. The role focuses on environmental regulations, land development reviews, and public education, with long-term fieldwork and occasional evening meetings.

Ideal candidates hold a related bachelor’s degree and have GIS experience; telework is available up to two days per week

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Planning, Geography, Architecture, Parks and Recreation, Transportation, Urban Design, Engineering, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Economics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Reviews development applications for compliance with County laws, master plans, and policies.
• Conducts field investigations to support review of development applications and enforcement actions.
• Speaks at public hearings to provide expertise and information for development applications.
• Assists with routine correspondence related to implementation of County Code.
