Job summary

Mattenga's Pizzeria seeks a Shift Lead to oversee daily operations during assigned shifts, ensuring food quality, hospitality, and smooth team performance. This role balances hands-on duties with strong leadership to drive restaurant success.

You will lead a fast-paced team, handle customer concerns professionally, and help maintain a clean, safe dining environment for dine-in, takeout, and delivery services.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyze situations critically and develop effective solutions.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Previous experience in food service or hospitality.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
• Food Handler or Food Manager certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations, including opening, closing, and shift transitions.
• Maintain food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management.
• Ensure orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly.
• Guide and support team members during the shift.
• Delegate tasks effectively to maintain workflow and efficiency.
• Train new employees on procedures, system, and customer service expectations.
• Address minor performance or customer issues in real time.
• Greet customers and ensure a welcoming, friendly environment.
