Job summary

Mattenga's Pizzeria is seeking aShift Lead to help drive smooth daily operations on assigned shifts. You will oversee the team, uphold food quality and customer service standards, and provide confident leadership to foster a positive work environment.

The role balances hands-on responsibilities with people management to ensure efficient service, accurate orders, and competitive hospitality across dine-in, takeout, and delivery. This position requires flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to analyze situations critically and develop effective solutions
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Previous experience in food service or hospitality
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
• Food Handler or Food Manager certification

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shift operations, including opening, closing, and shift transitions
• Maintain food quality, safety, and cleanliness standards throughout the restaurant
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management
• Ensure orders are prepared accurately and delivered promptly
• Guide and support team members during the shift
• Delegate tasks effectively to maintain workflow and efficiency
• Train new employees on procedures, system, and customer service expectations
• Address minor performance or customer issues in real time
• Greet customers and ensure a welcoming, friendly environment
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly
• Maintain a high standard of hospitality, whether dine-in, takeout, or delivery
