Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a hydraulics engineer to support pipeline, pump station and terminal projects nationwide from Englewood, CO, Billings, MT, Casper, WY, or Houston, TX offices. You will perform steady state and transient hydraulic analyses using SPS or AFT, with emphasis on data-driven modeling and reporting. Collaborative, multidisciplinary teams drive design and optimization.

The role requires a B.S. in engineering (ABET-accredited) with 3–8 years of experience, FE status, and a path to PE

Qualifications

• B.S. in ABET accredited Engineering with 3–8 years of relevant experience.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
• Willing to attain PE licensure.
• A pre-employment drug screening is required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Strong understanding of ASME B31.4 & B31.3, API and CFR 195.
• Experience coordinating with client SMEs and offsite team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and analytical skills.
• Experience with hydraulic modeling SPS or AFT is preferred.
• Experience with gas compression and 3D design tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under general direction with focus on pipeline hydraulics.
• Conducts steady state and transient analyses for pipelines and facilities.
• Builds hydraulic models using SPS or AFT and tunes with historical data.
• Assists with pump sizing and control philosophy analyses.
• Prepares formal reports documenting studies.
• Participates in internal/external reviews and presents findings.
