Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a hydraulics engineer to support pipelines, pump stations, and terminal projects in offices across multiple states including Houston, TX. The role emphasizes steady state and transient hydraulic analysis using SPS or AFT to model liquids such as oil and refined products. The candidate will join a multidisciplinary team with a 40+ year track record in oil & gas.

Required B.S. in engineering with FE exam, willingness to pursue PE licensure, and 3–8 years of relevant

Qualifications

• B.S. in ABET-accredited Engineering program with 3-8 years of relevant experience.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
• Willing to attain PE licensure.
• A pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties under general direction.
• Pipeline Hydraulics (Steady State & Transient Analysis).
• Build hydraulic models in SPS or AFT.
• Program steady state operating scenarios and tune models.
• Assist with pump sizing and control philosophy.
• Prepare formal reports documenting studies.
• Conduct field investigations to support detailed engineering and design.
