Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a hydraulics engineer to be based in Englewood, CO, Billings, MT, Casper, WY, or Houston, TX. You will provide hydraulic analysis for pipelines, pump stations, and terminal projects nationwide, working with a multidisciplinary team and using SPS/AFT software.

The role emphasizes steady state and transient simulations, data-driven model tuning, and preparation of formal reports for design reviews. PE licensure is encouraged. Travel up to 10% is possible.

Qualifications

• B.S. in ABET-accredited Engineering program with 3-8 years of relevant experience.
• Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam (FE).
• Willing to attain PE licensure.
• A pre-employment drug screening is required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Strong understanding of ASME B31.4 & B31.3, API standards and CFR 195.

Responsibilities

• Performs pipeline hydraulics steady state & transient analysis.
• Builds hydraulic models in SPS or AFT.
• Programs steady state operating scenarios and tunes models with historical data.
• Assists with pump sizing, selection and control philosophy.
• Programs transient cases and analyzes results, and compiles recommendations.
• Prepare formal reports documenting studies.
• Conducts field investigations to support detailed engineering and design.
