Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services seeks a skilled pipefitter to oversee crew activities on piping projects, ensuring safety, timeliness, and quality. You will read isometric drawings and determine location, orientation, size, and diameter of piping and equipment.

Responsibilities include selecting materials, installing and maintaining piping systems, supports, and HVAC piping; welding, testing for leaks, and coordinating with production teams. On-site work with strict safety adherence is required.

Qualifications

• Reads isometric drawings and understands piping layouts.
• Must be able to select materials, supports, and fittings per specs.
• Demonstrates safety-first approach on site.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials per specs.
• Inspects worksite to determine obstructions.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid conflicts with other workers.
• Cuts pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer, chisel, torch and machine.
• Threads pipe using threading machine.
• Bends pipe by hand or with tools.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets on walls/ceilings.
• Assembles and installs metal or nonmetal pipes and fittings with joints.
• Secures pipes to structure with brackets and clamps.
• Installs and maintains refrigeration and air conditioning piping and controls.
• Tests piping systems for leaks and checks gauges.
• Welds pipe supports to structural members.
• May observe/operate production machinery; assist in repairs.
• Loads/transports/unloads materials and tools.
• Assists in lifting and securing materials during installation.
• Performs minor cleaning of tools and equipment.
• Respiratory protection may be required; follow safety rules.
