Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a skilled pipefitter to lay out, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems and related equipment for industrial facilities. The role includes selecting materials, cutting and threading pipes, mounting hangers, welding and testing systems, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include inspecting work sites, planning installations, handling tools and materials, and coordinating with foremen to ensure timely completion

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2–3 years of experience in the field or related area.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks under supervision.
• Typically reports to a Foreman or supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials per job specs.
• Inspects worksite for obstructions and plans installation sequence.
• Cuts pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, torch or machine.
• Threads pipe with threading machine and bends with tools.
• Welds pipe supports to structural steel members.
• Mounts pipe hangers and brackets; installs fittings and joints.
• Installs and maintains refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
• Tests piping systems for leaks and checks gauges.
• Loads, transports and unloads material and tools; assists in lifting.
• Observes safety rules; may operate production machinery for verification.
