Job summary

Cincinnati Children's is seeking a part-time patient care assistant to support nursing staff in the pediatric setting. You will help with activities of daily living, patient observation, and safe transport under RN supervision, ensuring timely documentation and escalation when needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus Ohio STNA/CNA or similar credential and CPR certification. Prior patient care experience is favored; flexible scheduling supports 24-hour unit operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; must meet one of the credential paths listed.
• Clinical rotation in medical/surgical or equivalent from ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited program.
• Ohio STNA/Ohio CNA registry eligibility or reciprocity within 180 days.
• Active CPR training and certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide approved care to assigned patients under RN supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living and supervise developmentally appropriate activities.
• Assist with patient transport and 1:1 observation as needed.
• Document in medical record and communicate status changes on shift handover.

Ohio/National EMS Registry
