Job summary

Dayton Children's in Dayton, OH, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant for the NICU. You will assist the nurse with patient care activities, considering developmental levels and reporting information as appropriate.

The role requires a HSD/GED, PCA training or related education, and typically 1–2 years of STNA hospital experience is preferred. CPR is preferred and must be obtained within two weeks of start.

Qualifications

• HSD/GED is required.
• PCA training or PCA experience or actively enrolled in a health care related education program is required.
• 1-2 years STNA experience in hospital setting is preferred.
• CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist the nurse in completion of patient care activities, considering the patient’s developmental levels.
• Demonstrates strong communication skills; accepts delegated tasks and reports patient information as indicated.
• Measures and records vital signs, intake and output.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living.
• Provides safe transportation and environment for patients; cross trained to support clinical and clerical duties.
