Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent AND one of the following:
• Completion of medical/surgical or equivalent clinical rotation from an ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA accredited institution;
• Listed on the Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA (if CNA is in another state, must reciprocity within 180 days of hire);
• Listed on the Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry;
• One (1) year of patient care experience within the last three (3) years;
• Successful completion of the organization's Patient Care Assistant training program, which must be completed after hire;
• Requires training in cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and maintenance of certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care - Provide approved care of assigned patients and assist in implementation of interventions under supervision of RN. Supervise and assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Communication - Demonstrates CARES behaviors, document in patient medical record, and report changes on shift summary.
• Environment - Maintain a safe, organized, infection-controlled environment; ensure safety for patients, families, and staff.
• Administrative Support - Respond to alarms, answer calls, assemble charts, stock supplies, and assist with orientation/training.

Education

ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited clinical rotation

Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA

Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry

1 year patient care experience (last 3 years)

Patient Care Assistant training completion (post-hire)
