Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a part-time patient care assistant for the PICU. You will supervise daily activities for pediatric patients, assist withCare interventions under RN supervision, and support communications and documentation to ensure high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean environment, handling patient transport, and assisting with orientation of new staff within a fast-paced pediatric unit. Hours: 24 per week, FTE 0.6.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA clinical rotation is required or listed credentials accepted.
• Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA with reciprocity within 180 days.
• Listed on Ohio or National EMS Registry.
• 1+ year patient care experience in last 3 years.
• CPR training required.

Responsibilities

• Plan of Care: provide approved care and assist with interventions under RN supervision; supervise activities of daily living and assist with 1 on 1 observation as needed.
• Communications: report status changes, document in medical record, assist in shift handoff, seek guidance when needed.
• Environment: ensure safe, organized work areas; follow infection control policies; adhere to safety for pediatric patients.
• Administrative Support: respond to alarms, answer phones per etiquette, assemble charts, stock supplies, assist in orientation of new staff.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited clinical rotation

Ohio STNA registry or Ohio CNA (reciprocity within 180 days)

Ohio or National Emergency Medical Services Registry

1+ year patient care experience within last 3 years
