Job summary

The PTA will follow the plan of care, adjust treatments based on patient response, and document communications with therapists. Education includes PTA licensure requirements and continuing education aligned with DNV Hip and Knee Certification.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Illinois
• BLS certification within 30 days (AHA)
• Must pass board exam on next available date
• Complete required continuing education for DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Certification when assigned

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers.
• Follows the therapist's plan of care. Adjusts the treatment based on patient response and communicates with the evaluating therapist before documenting in the daily note.
• Produces documentation in accordance with the Clinical Documentation Policy (CTSCP67).
• If applicable, completes annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
